Turbo Diecast at CDX 2026: Our Weekend at the Canadian Diecast Expo in Brampton

Turbo Diecast at CDX 2026: Our Weekend at the Canadian Diecast Expo in Brampton

There's a certain buzz you only get when a room is packed with people who care about the same small things you do: the paint finish on a 1:64 casting, the rubber on a set of wheels, the story behind a limited run. That buzz filled the Pearson Convention Centre in Brampton for the 2026 Canadian Diecast Expo, and we're thrilled to say the Turbo Diecast table was right in the middle of it.

The Show

For anyone who couldn't make it, CDX 2026 took over Halls A, B and C at the Pearson Convention Centre on Steeles Avenue East, running Saturday, September 19 and Sunday, September 20. Billed as Canada's premier diecast event, it lived up to the name in every way.

A Weekend to Remember

We'll say it plainly: CDX 2026 was a huge success for Turbo Diecast. From the moment the doors opened Saturday morning, our table was busy, and the steady stream of visitors didn't let up until the last hour on Sunday.

But the numbers aren't what we'll remember most. What made this weekend special was the people.

Finally Meeting You in Person

Running an online shop means we get to know a lot of you through order notes, emails, and shipping labels. We recognize your names, we remember what you collect, and we've packed up more than a few grails with you in mind. But until this weekend, many of you were names on a screen.

At CDX, that changed. Over and over, someone would walk up to the table, introduce themselves, and say, "I've ordered from you before." Putting faces to those names was easily the best part of the show for us. We heard about the collections our cars ended up in, the pieces you're still hunting for, and the stories behind why you got into diecast in the first place.

To every customer who stopped by to say hello: thank you. It meant more to us than you know. And to everyone who discovered Turbo Diecast for the first time at the show, welcome to the family.

Talking Shop with Fellow Enthusiasts

Beyond our customers, the whole weekend was a reminder of how great this community is. We traded stories with fellow collectors, swapped notes with other vendors, and spent more time than we'd like to admit admiring everyone else's tables. Whether someone had been collecting for forty years or had just picked up their first car that morning, the enthusiasm was the same. It's a real pleasure to be part of a hobby where everyone is this welcoming.

Our CDX Contest: Three Lucky Winners

To celebrate the show, we ran a contest at our table with prizes for three lucky winners. Everyone who followed us on Instagram earned one entry, and anyone who purchased $25 or more of diecast from us was automatically entered five times. The response was incredible, and we want to thank everyone who took part.

We put out three cars for the contest: an INNO64 MAZDA RX-7 FD3S LB-SUPER SILHOUETTE, an INNO64 1/64 MAZDA RX-7 (FC3S) "PANDEM AERO", and a POPRACE HONDA CIVIC EG6 YELLOW!

Congratulations to our winners Brody, Matt, and Evgeniia!

If you entered but didn't win this time, don't worry, we'll have more giveaways coming soon.

Meeting the Liberty Walk Legends

One of the biggest highlights of the weekend was having Liberty Walk at the show, with Wataru Kato and Hyuma Kato in attendance. For anyone in the car world, Liberty Walk needs no introduction. Kato-san founded the company in 1993 in Nagoya, Japan, and it has grown into one of the most recognizable names in custom car culture, famous for its bold widebody builds. Those designs have made their way into the diecast world too, and LB-Works castings have become some of the most sought-after pieces in many collections, including ours.

It was incredibly cool to see Liberty Walk support a Canadian diecast show. Their presence said a lot about how far this hobby has come and how closely full-size car culture and diecast collecting are connected. Getting to meet the people behind a culture we've admired for so long was a real "pinch me" moment for the whole Turbo Diecast team.

And yes, we couldn't pass up the chance: I got my Mini GT Lamborghini Countach, picked up at the 2026 Osaka Auto Messe, signed! It's now one of the most treasured pieces in my personal collection, and it will be a permanent reminder of an unforgettable weekend.

Final Thoughts

CDX 2026 reminded us why we started Turbo Diecast in the first place: a love for these little cars and the people who collect them. A huge thank you to the CDX team for putting on such a well-run show, and to every single person who stopped by our table.

If you missed us in Brampton, you can find us on Instagram, or even at local weekend diecast shows hosted by Northern Lights Collector Events. We're already counting down to CDX 2027, and we hope to meet even more of you there!
